 The land is owned and managed by the Uckfield Millennium Green Trust

The aims of the Trust are to hold the freehold land of Uckfield Millennium Green at New Road, Ridgewood, Uckfield with the land to be held in perpetuity for the people of Uckfield and District, all in accordance with the Declaration of Trust established on 30th March 1998.

The Trustees are volunteers from within the local community and do not receive any remuneration for their involvement.

The current trustees are:

Michael Harker - Chairman

Dorothy Sparks - Secretary

Nicola Walsh - Treasurer

Joe Conway

Carol Sweetland

Nigel Williams - Warden

The statement of aims of the Trust are to ensure the Green:-

  • Makes a substantial contribution to the life of the whole community

  • Is able to be enjoyed by people of all ages and physical abilities

  • Is open and evident to visitors to the Locality as well as inhabitants

  • Is an attractive place for people to take air and exercise, meet others and pursue leisure activities and pastimes consistent with shared enjoyment of the whole of the land 

  • Includes an area suitable for community events and celebrations

  • Includes significant natural areas where people can enjoy nature and wildlife at first hand

  • Makes a positive contribution to the local environment and respect the established character of the area

  • Remains safely and conveniently accessible from Inhabitants' homes
